Toys, Black Friday, and the Meaning of Christmas. Mr. Ford wants one thing; to go to Boston to be with his grandson who is having surgery. But it’s black friday and he is an appliance salesman for Newland’s Department Store. To get to Boston in time he’d have to fly and there’s no money for the ticket. He asks God to make a way and it seems that God answers his prayer when the Santa that was scheduled to work has car trouble and can’t make it. Bearded and slightly jolly, Mr. Ford makes the perfect fill in for Santa and the promised pay will purchase that ticket! But just when all seems to be going his way everything turns topsy turvy when Mr. Ford answers a little boys searching questions about the real meaning of Christmas.
